Q. Do I need to start with “Beginner’s classes?
A. No, but if you are totally new to yoga or have practiced for a long time and never quite got all of the basics you might really enjoy our beginners’ series, or beginners’ intensives. These courses are designed to help you learn all of the basics, answer any of your questions, get to know some other ‘new’ people and enjoy the somewhat smaller class setting with the individual attention given to beginners.

Q. What is recommended to wear to a Kundalini Yoga class?
A. Wear modest, comfortable light colored clothing, preferably made of cotton or other natural, breathable fiber. It is best to remove your socks when you practice Kundalini Yoga. Wearing white clothes increases your electro-magnetic field (aura), your personal awareness and makes it easier for the teacher to see how you are breathing and moving during class.

Q. How long do I need to wait after I have eaten to practice Kundalini Yoga?
A. It is good to wait about two hours after eating before you practice yoga and meditation. This will help you gain the maximum benefits, plus it is easier to exercise on an empty stomach. If you must eat, a piece of fruit is all right.

Q. Why does a Kundalini Yoga class always end with a closing song?
A. Every Kundalini Yoga class finishes with the song “May the long time sun shine upon you, all love surround you. And the pure light within you, guide your way on.” and a “Sat Nam.” This song of blessing helps to ground you, integrate the benefits of the yoga and prepare you to resume the activities of everyday life.
