Kundalini Yoga East is guided by the husband and wife team of Sat Jivan Singh and Sat Jivan Kaur Khalsa, senior teachers in the Kundalini Yoga Tradition, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. They had been living, breathing and serving the teachings of Kundalini Yoga since Yogi Bhajan himself asked them to start teaching in New York City in 1971.

They have two adult married children who are second generation Kundalini yogis who have practiced a yogic lifestyle their entire lives. And they have three lovely grandchildren also being raised in the Kundalini Yoga tradition.

SAT JIVAN KAUR

imageA highly respected and deeply loved teacher of Kundalini Yoga in New York City for over 37 years, Sat Jivan Kaur studied directly with and was personally trained by the Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan. Known for her warmth, wisdom, humor and an encyclopedic knowledge and near perfect recall of the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, she is sought out for counseling, guidance and instruction by other teachers of Kundalini Yoga as well as students seeking yogic knowledge. Additionally Sat Jivan Kaur is a world renowned expert in assisting infertile couples conceive through the application of the technology of Kundalini Yoga.

Sat Jivan Kaur is one of the senior most certified Kundalini Yoga teachers in the world having taught Kundalini Yoga continuously since 1971 and has an active private practice as a Yoga Therapist, Nutrition and Diet Consultant, Numerologist, Spiritual Counselor and Gong Therapist. She has personally taught well known members of the literary community, stalwarts of industry and some of the biggest actors and actresses in Hollywood and on Broadway. She is actively sought to teach Kundalini Yoga, Teacher Training and Conscious Pregnancy Teacher Training the world over. She is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.

She has trained hundreds of teachers in Kundalini Yoga, sending them to teach throughout the United States and the world (including Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Ireland, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Malaysia to name but a few).
Sat Jivan Kaur, a gourmet vegetarian chef who enjoys an international reputation as an expert in natural healing through the application of Kundalini Yoga, vegetarian diet, foods and herbs, was Yogi Bhajan’s personal chef for over 18 months after his first angioplasty in 1987, and she continued as a trusted diet and recipe advisor throughout the duration of his life.

Over the past 37 years of service Sat Jivan Kaur has organized and prepared food for thousands of people at events such as the World Peace Summit held at the United Nations in 2000, Yogi Bhajan’s birthday celebration held at the Bronx Botanical Garden in 1978, the World Peace Conference in 1983 high in the mountains in New Mexico, the New York City White Tantric Yoga Course, personally hosted many world religious leaders and heads of state and Judges from the New York City court system. Sat Jivan Kaur loves to use her skills as an organizer and her talent for bringing many diverse people together for great times, good food, deep conversation, laughter, and spiritual upliftment.

Sat Jivan Kaur is a Level 1 Certified Sat Nam Rasayan practitioner, the healing branch of Kundalini Yoga, and has two grown, married children who have practiced a yogic lifestyle their whole life and three grandchildren who practice yoga daily. Her expertise as a mother and grandmother were well enough recognized that when Yogi Bhajan’s own grandchildren were born she was called upon to help organize food and diet ideas as well as an early childhood yogic exercise and massage program, all based on Yogi Bhajan’s teachings. She lives with her husband of 37 years, Sat Jivan Singh Khalsa, in New York City.

SAT JIVAN SINGH

imageSat Jivan Singh is a charismatic teacher of dignity and grace. He blends his 37 years of yogic teaching and lifestyle with 34 years in the practice of law to make Kundalini Yoga relevant to his students as well as fun, invigorating, revitalizing and inspiring. In 1971 when Yogi Bhajan needed a teacher with the strength, consciousness, commitment and professional credentials to send to New York City he looked no further than Sat Jivan Singh. In addition to studying directly with Yogi Bhajan, Sat Jivan Singh served him as a trusted personal advisor and confidant over the years. Sat Jivan Singh’s students include well-known actors and actresses, corporate CEOs, Judges in the Federal, Supreme and Family Courts in addition to FBI personnel.

Sat Jivan Singh’s reputation as an impeccable and uncompromising teacher of Kundalini Yoga resulted in his appointment to the Board of Directors of the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA) and the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI). He has personally helped formulate the certification standards for Kundalini Yoga teachers worldwide and oversee the compilation and dissemination of the technology of Kundalini Yoga.

Additionally, Sat Jivan Singh has released his first DVD in the Yogic First Aid Kit series, “Peace of Mind in Stressful Times.”
